Via the Gilfpromenade to the Tappeinerweg trail

The walk begins at the Thermenplatz in Merano. First you walk along the bridge over the rushing Passer river. On the other side of the river you walk to the Wandelhalle and continue along the Gilfpromenade to the Tappeinerweg. At the Powder Tower the path leads through Mediterranean vegetation, which offers a contrasting picture, especially in spring, when the surrounding mountains are still covered in snow. At the Saxifraga café, you can descend the steps to the parish church or follow the path for a little while and then return to the town centre via a beautiful serpentine path.
