Val di Genova: the Nardis waterfalls
Curcu Genovese Verlag
In the west of the Adamello Brenta National Park is the settlement of Carisolo, a renowned tourist centre of the Val Rendena valley. After the village of Carisolo, turn left onto the outskirts of Val di Genova. This valley, which is about 17 km long and dates back to the Ice Age, is bordered by the Adamello and the Presanella. The Sarca torrent, which meanders through the valley, is fed by many other watercourses and flows into Lake Garda. The real waterfalls of the Nardis are fed by the tributaries that create these fountains on their way out of the valley: Nardis, dels Casol, Lares, Folgorida, Muta, Pedruc, are the names of the most popular ones. The Valle di Genova is accessible by car, although the conditions are not the same for the 17 km: the first 4 km from Carisolo to Ponte Verde (921 m) are free and with plenty of parking spaces. The next 4.5 km from Ponte Verde to Ponte Maria (1163 m) are free of charge (8 euros) and the last 7.5 km from Ponte Maria to the Bedole Alp
