Authentic alpine villages in Val Badia (Gadertal) Valley
Hike to the old shepherd's huts of the Sennesalm pastures

Start at Pederü Tavern in the innermost Val di Rudo (Rautal) Valley at 1,545 m; access is via a good road from San Vigilio di Marebbe (Sankt Vigil). Follow trail markings (No. 7/9), first heading east on a wide dirt road, which makes steep curves, along a steep rocky slope up to the road fork at about 1,900 metres. Turn right, following trail markings for No. 9, and it’s just a few minutes up to the pastures of Fodara Vedla Alm (1,966 m; serves food; 1 hour, 15 minutes from Pederü Tavern). From there, turn left on the path that branches off to the left (No. 7) and follow it up through the woods; later, it turns into a broad road, almost flat, that leads to the old cluster of huts at the Sennesalm pastures (2,116 m; serves food); 2 hours from Pederü. From there, the final segment takes about 20 minutes: follow the appropriate signs along a broad access road northwest through a little valley and up, turning left at the end, to the pastures of Munt de Sennes Alm (2,176 m; serves food);
