Toldt Trail and Salern Castle near Vahrn

In the upper village of Vahrn (677 m), first follow signpost 5 between the houses to the striking Ansiedl or Gallhof manor, continue on the little road to a Kneipp facility and to the last houses, then always follow the signposts "Carl-Toldt-Weg" in serpentines through the forest up to the meadow area at the saddle behind the castle hill and, after briefly following the Schalderer Straße, briefly turn right up to the ruin (778 m); from Vahrn. 0:45 Descent: From the ruins down to the aforementioned saddle, right on a cross-country forest path (still signposted "Carl-Toldt-Weg") to the Spilucker Weg, on this path and on the footpath branching off to the left down through the forest and finally right on a narrow road (it is called Kastanienweg) back to the Oberdorf.
