To the Weißkugelhütte in Langtaufers

From the hamlet of Melag in the farthest valley of Langtaufer (1915 m; road in from Graun on the Reschensee lake) first northwards in the direction of Weißseejoch (trail 1) up to a stony meadow with a wayside cross (2140 m; from Melag 0:45 hrs.), shortly after the cross turn right off trail 1, now on the high trail marked no. 3, near a waterfall, almost level to the Melagbach (wooden footbridge, 2146 m), on the other side briefly up to the so-called Rastlegg and in a level traverse of the steep grassy slopes into the Schafberg shepherd's hut on a flat grassy hollow (2340 m). From there the path (always mark 3) rises briefly, then crosses the stony steep slopes again almost level and finally joins the hut trail coming up from the valley, on which the Weißkugelhütte is soon reached, climbing slightly (2544 m; summer management; from the starting point just under 3 hours). - Descent: From the Weißkugelhütte always on trail 2 in wide serpentines through steep slopes down to the valley
