On Brixen's local mountain
Constant view of the Geisler

From Brixen we take the bus to the Schlemmer ski hut on the Plose. From there we first go up a little on trail no. 6. Then the Dolomites panorama trail no. 17a leads over gentle mountain slopes until it crosses trail no. 4. Follow this as far as the Löner Scharte and continue on trail no. 7 as far as the Pfannspitze (2545m). When visibility is good, the views are fantastic: the sky-scraping dolomite towers of the Geisler Group in the Villnöss Valley appear close enough to touch. From the summit there is a panoramic view of the Dolomite mountains to the south. To the north, the Zillertal glacier mountains rise up to 3,500 metres on the horizon. From the Pfannspitze continue on trail no. 7, past the Gro&szlig Gabler (bivouac here) and down without a path (Gamssteig) to trail no. 4 to the Schatzerhütte (2004m). Stop for refreshments at the Schatzer Hütte and hike back to the Schlemmer ski hut and by bus to Brixen.
