To the Rifugio Berti in grandiose rock arena

Starting from the Kreuzbergpass hotel, climb somewhat steeply through meadows and woods to a depression with Lago dell’Orso. (1.769m). Continue through sparse forest to the Pian della Biscia saddle (1,942 m). At first still on an old good war path, the trail then winds through the rugged, larch-covered eastern flank of the Arzalpenkopf. Here there are also some exposed but secured passages, until it then goes up strenuously through a steep gully. It is worthwhile to walk a short distance upwards to a viewing platform at the dilapidated Rifugio O. Sala, an impressive mountain panorama awaits!   Then  descend over wide mountain meadow slopes and –hollows to the Rifugio Berti (1,950 m). The route is the same as the outward one.
