Flowering grass mats surround the lake - an extremely scenic hiking destination.
From St. Nikolaus in Ulten (1266 m) always following the M 18, partly on the forest path, partly on the old footpath on the south side through the forest slopes and up to the Auerbergalm (1644 m; a good 1:00 hour).Continue into the valley and up the steep slope with the waterfalls to the Seefeldalm and ten minutes further to the Seefeldsee, our destination (2168 m; from Auerbergalm just under 1:30 hrs.). The descent follows the same route as the ascent, approx. 1:30 hrs.
