From Ennewasser you climb steeply on trail 2 through the Flimwald forest to the Bärenplott (scenic weather cross and barbecue area) and further up to the unmanaged Untere Flimalm (1890 m; 2 hours from the starting point). For another hour, the trail leads steeply in narrow serpentines over a terrain jump between rock massifs to the likewise unserviced Obere Flimalm (2235 m). From here, follow trail 18 (signposted "Soyalm") for about 20 minutes up to the Unterer Flimsee. The markings are a little confusing in this section, but if you hike straight uphill behind the alpine hut, you will quickly find yourself on the right path and reach the lake without any orientation difficulties.
