To the Alpe di Siusi
Hike from the Val Gardena valley floor up to the alpine pasture
From Ortisei on trail mark. 15 through the forest southeastwards to the Pilat farm (1525 m) and then continue to follow mark 15 on the steep path and later on the pleasant forest path up to the Alpe di Siusi, which we reach a little below the above-mentioned mountain station (1875 m; just under 2 hours). Now we hike on the wide path with mark 9 in the direction of the Hotel Sonne, cross the Fischerbächlein and the wet meadows of the Gran Paluch, and then a long flat descent über meadows brings us in about 3/4 hours to the alpine pasture Saltria (1675 m; guesthouses). From there, always following trail no. 18, we hike along the wide feeder trail through the wooded Jendertal valley, slightly descending to the Biei farm and from there along a narrow road through the forest and past several farms out of the valley to Ortisei (from Saltria 2 1/2 hours).
