Beloved summit above the village of Tirolo

From the village of Tirolo (Dorf Tirol), take the cable car up to Hochmuth Farm and Tavern (1,351 m). From there, it’s just a few minutes on a good trail up to Steinegg Tavernn; head east on Trail No. 22, through the forest, sometimes with a grade, sometimes almost level, up to the Mutkopf Gasthaus Tavern (1,684 m; 1 hour from Hochmuth). Then, take trail No. 22/23, through the forest, across the ridge to the crossroads, and turn left onto Trail No. 23. Walk along the steep eastern ridge, which isn’t difficult, up to the summit (2,295 m; 1.5 to 2 hours from Mutkopf Gasthaus). Descent: Best on the trail of ascent. Seasoned and particularly keen hikers can cross over to Taufenscharte wind gap from the summit, and from there across the Leiteralm pastures and the Hans Frieden Weg Trail back to the starting point (walking time, approx 3 hours).
