Tiarno di Sopra is the largest village in Valle di Ledro, and the westernmost as well. The Troc walk starts from the village, runs through woods and green meadows and leads to Lake Ampola, covered with waterlilies.

Beside the church of St Peter and St Paul there's a monument in memory of the Fallen of both World Wars. The Rio Sacche flows through the village. Tiarno di Sopra is divided into five contrade, which play each other every year during Tiarnofest. West of the village lies the Val d'Ampola, at the centre of which is Lake Ampola, a pond with a rich variety of water animals and plants.
Author’s recommendation
A good way to truly enjoy the village is the round tour along the left and right banks of the Rio Sacche. Every year, on the last Sunday in June, Tiarno di Sopra celebrates their patron saints, St Peter and St Paul, with a foot race, lots of food and music.

Turn-by-turn directions
From the church square in Tiarno di Sopra walk towards the small bridge in front of Albergo Vittoria. Once you've crossed it, turn left and stay on Via Marconi. Nearby the fountain of Camping Casavecchia continue along Via Marconi on the right. Once you've arrived at the first crossroads, take the left road (Via Angli). Once you reach the top, you will be able to look at a map that shows the Troc walk, 3 km in its entirety, among the old barns of Tiarno di Sopra. At the end of Troc walk, you need to turn left and go on the main provincial road for 100 metres until you reach the car park of Lake Ampola, a natural reserve. From there you need to take the boardwalk leading to the visitor centre. Then, turn left towards Tiarno di Sopra, following the walking-cycling path. When you arrive at the football pitch of Tiarno di Sopra, turn left and get closer to the main road. Cross it and stay on Via Brì until you arrive nearby the fountain and then back to the church square.
