Across the marshlands
Hiking through a vast expanse

Start at the Gasserhütte Tavern  (1,744 m; large parking area), which can be accessed on a good road from Chiusa (Klausen) via Villandro (Villanders). Head briefly in the direction of the Moar-in-Plun-Alm alpine farm, and then turn right at the sign for Jausenstation Rinderplatz; it’s almost flat from there to the Am Rinderplatz Tavern (1,799 m).  From that point on, the trail is broad and well marked, going briefly through a forest, towards the Moar-in-Plun-Hütte mountain hut, and then to the right, partly flat and partly slightly uphill, across open pastureland to the large, widely visible Stöfflhütte mountain hut (2,057 m); about 2 hours from the starting point. To return to the starting point, you can either retrace your route (about 1.5 hours) or opt for the following route: From the Stöfflhütte mountain hut, head towards Latzfonser Kreuz for a little while, until you reach an elevated pasture (Gfoller, 2,120 m).
