Casual hike above Schenna near Meran

In Schenna (640 m) first follow the signs "Zum Waal" between houses and through orchards up to the Moareben inn and on to the Pichler inn on the road of the same name (827 m; from Schenna just under 0:45 h.).); here turn right and follow the Waalweg (signposted) southwards, descending via the aforementioned "cat's ladder" into the Schnuggenbach ditch, then a longer hike to Gsteirer Straße and, after crossing it, continue on the Waalweg (the Waal is abandoned here) to the signposts where the Waal hike ends; from Gasthaus Pichler just under 1:30 hrs. Finally, the trail leads down to the hamlet of St. Georgen (inns, church worth seeing) and from there, following the signposts to "Schenna", it goes partly on a pretty footpath and later on a narrow road down to the starting point; from Waal approx. 0:45 hrs.
