Approach from Klausen via Feldthurns to Latzfons and soon afterwards at the fork in the road turn right following the signs for "Kühhof" up to the car park near the aforementioned Kühhof (1550 m). From the M. 17 first follow eastwards in a slightly descending traverse of the forest slopes for about 20 minutes until you almost reach the Kropfsteiner meadow (1740 m); Now turn left from the path without entering the fenced meadow, briefly up to the Waal river crossing and follow it (the Waal dam is mostly easy to walk on) through the larch meadows westwards, then above the Kühhof past a wayside cross, soon through dense forest (here the water-bearing part of the Waal begins) on to mountain meadows with individual huts, and where the Waal only crosses the meadows as a small, waterless channel, briefly down to the wide path 17, which is entered at around 1800 m altitude; From there you can make a detour to the Klausner Hut, which is reached in about 20 minutes on the wide trail 17 with a
