Green mountain pines, grey rocks and white glaciers Hike the Valle Aurina (Ahrntal) Valley, surrounded by 3,000 metre high mountains. North of the Nevesjoch ridge are two of the most important high peaks of the main ridge of the Zillertal Alps: Große Möseler Peak and Turnerkamp Peak, at more than 3,400 metres.
From Brunico (Bruneck) follow the signs for Valle Aurina (Ahrntal) Valley. Once you are in the center of the village of Luttago (Luttach) turn left towards the village of Rio Bianco (Weissenbach). From the parking lot, north of Rio Bianco (1,380 m), follow the signs to Göge on Trail No. 24 along the river, through the woods, and northwards to the Mittleren Göge pasture, then continue west up the valley to the Rifugio Porro (Chemnitzer Hütte) mountain hut (2,419 m; open in summer) about 2.5 to 3 hours from Rio Bianco. Descent: Return using alternate recommended trail past Tristensee Lake. From the hut follow Kellerbauerweg Trail No. 27 southeast, which is partly flat and partly descending to Tristensee Lake (2,344 m). Follow the high trail outwards, crossing steep grassy slopes until under the little Lappacher Jöchl ridge. From there, follow Trail No. 22 on the left (2,300 m) down the steep grassy slopes to the Stifteralm alpine pasture (1,841m) and continue down the valley past the
