This tour takes us to the historic mountain farms above Riffian. From the steep slopes we always have a magnificent view of the Passeier Valley and the Merano Basin.
This tour takes you on narrow hiking trails from Riffian up to the high mountain farm meadows. The rustic, managed farms offer a cosy ambience to recover from the ascent. Via Vernuer we finally descend back to Riffian. We pass the pilgrimage church "Zur schmerzhaften Mutter Gottes" (To the Sorrowful Mother of God), a baroque building from the 17th century. The high altar is considered a special masterpiece among the altars of Tyrol. In the Chapel of Grace next to the pilgrimage church there are Gothic frescoes from 1425.
