The 1st stage of the Merano Waalrunde leads from Töll via the Algunder Waalweg and Dorf Tirol into the Spronsertal and on to Kuens via the Kuenser Waalweg.

Start at the car park östlich der Töll below Plars (480 m) and hike along a flat footpath towards the east, which is very visibly signposted "Algunder Waalweg". After crossing the Plars road, the trail continues to the Grubbach stream near Algund. From here, do not continue along the Algunder Waalweg, but turn left over the Grubbach and then right along trail 29 to the next junction. Then turn left and go uphill in serpentines on trail 29A. Then turn left briefly onto trail 26 and then immediately right towards the east onto trail 28. Follow this over the Petererbach and the Mutbach and onto trail 23A to the Farmerkreuz. Here, take the upper fitness trail to the Tiroler Kreuz and continue on trail 6 into the Spronsertal valley. Before the trail leads to the Longfallhof farm, turn right, cross the Finelebach stream and continue on the Kuenser Waalweg trail on a level forest hike out of the valley to Kuens. To the next stage. You can find the entire route of the Waalrunde here.
