Another easy tour, also suitable for prams, along the charming Altfass valley.

This beautiful valley, located at the foot of the Gitschberg, which rises above Meransen (1414 m). The starting point of the tour is the Alder car park (1606 m) just above Meransen, which is subject to tolls. A few signs inform us that the trail can be followed in different ways, varying in length and difficulty. We take the red trail (Altfasstrail), with a total length of 11.2 km. The very easy trail leads through the forest onto a forest road, along the Altfassbach stream. This allows tourists to discover hydrotherapy, also called Kneipp cure, at 4 stations. This method, discovered by a German priest who lived in the middle of the 18th century, consists of immersing various parts of the body in ice-cold water and taking alternating rest breaks. This constant alternation between cold and warm stimulates the circulation, prevents varicose veins and contributes to better sleep, as well as strengthening the immune system and curing migraines, basically a true panacea for the entire body.
