All's Well That Ends Well
The seventh and final leg of the Alta Via di Merano (Meraner Höhenweg) high trail runs from the village of Matatz in Val Passiria (Passeiertal) Valley briefly into Val di Sopranes (Spronser Tal) Valley and finally back to Hochmuth near Tirolo (Dorf Tirol).

We continue from Matatz to Rio Kalben (Kalbenbach) Stream, where we descend to 820 metres, cross the valley, and then ascend again to the 1,000-metre mark. The route now leads from farm to farm, from hamlet to hamlet, partly through the forest, until it reaches Longfallhof Tavern in Valle di Sopranes (Spronser Tal) Valley. From Longfallhof, there is a chance to exit the trail: cross the Valle di Sopranes to Tiroler Kreuz and then take a bus from there to Merano. Or you can go from Longfallhof Farm through the high forest to Talbauer (careful in wet conditions!) and through steep meadows to the summit station of the Hochmuth cable car.
