Through the Val di Plan/Pfelderer Tal valley.
Leg 6 of the Alta Via di Merano (Meraner Höhenweg) high trail runs from Gasthof Zeppichl through the Val di Plan (Pfelderer Tal) Valley to Matatz in the Val Passiria/Passeiertal Valley.

You’ll pass through the village of Plan (Pfelders) at 1,622 m, and will follow alongside Rio di Plan (Pfelderer Bach) Stream, crossing over it a few times; you’ll also pass a climbing facility, continuing along the Fuxensteig Trail down to the Innerhütte and Außerhütt mountain huts. Here, we encounter the typical landscape of the Alta Via di Merano (Meraner Höhenweg) high trail once again: remote woods, forest clearings and mountain farmsteads. The trail goes up and down as we make our way to Christl, above San Leonardo (St. Leonard), the capital of Val Passiria (Passeiertal) Valley. From this point, the trail leads south. The rocky mountains of Val Sarentino (Sarntal) Valley lie opposite the high trail. Now and then, the route follows the paved streets that serve as access roads to the farms.  Click here for the entire route of the Alta Via di Merano (Meraner Höhenweg) high trail.
