Cool Forest Trails
Leg 3 of the Alta Via della Val Venosta (Vinschger Höhenweg) high trail runs from the hamlet of Tanas into Val di Mazia (Matschertal) Valley, to Glieshof.

The third day presents less altitude differential in ascent and descent to be overcome, but again requires that hikers cover quite a long distance. At the beginning, the trail goes steadily up and down along Monte Sole (Sonnenberg) Mountain and then meanders along the western side of Val Mazia (Matschertal) Valley. Here, hikers will find relief along long walks in a cool forest. The day ends at almost 1,900 metres, at Glieshof Farm at the Val Mazia valley head.
