Spring hike on the Vinschgau Sun Mountain

Spring hikes have a special charm. We have had enough of snow and long for warm sunshine. We find them in the rustic Vinschgau Valley. We start in Latsch at the cable car and walk back to the main road, which we cross carefully. We soon come to the Latschanderwaal, which we follow briefly to the right until we choose trail no. 8A at the fork to the left up towards Trumsberg. We hike upwards through a barren steppe landscape on the archaeological hiking trail A6. Über den Latschanderwaal rückück: Our path now leads us towards Kastelbell. Here you can take a gravel bend and branch off to the Waalweg, or you can extend the loop to the Pfraumhof and take a look at the picturesque Kastelbell Castle. After about three hours of walking along the Latschanderwaal, we return to our starting point. The Waal is still dry at this time, but we make a mental note to come back again to hike the wonderful Waal from Latsch to Staben and back when it is full of water.
