Destination of this lovely hike is the monument to the Empress Elisabeth (Sissi, wife of Franz Josef I), who stayed several times in the Grand Hotel Carezza. She was often accompanied by a local
guide along the path n. 6, which was her favorite walk.

Start is the Lago di Carezza Lake. From here it goes over the suspension bridge and then until the grain mill (1556m) and along the path [6] past the Meierei Inn and the Ladritscher Hof farm and then along path [3] until the monument to the Empress Elisabeht (1566m). After a stop there return to the crossing path [6] and continue for the Malga Heinzen Alm. From there take the path [16] to the Moseralm hotel and go back on path [6] crossing the suspension bridge until the Lago di Carezza lake.

Getting there
Getting to the starting point of the tour by public transport is easy and convenient.By public bus line: - 180 from Bozen | Bolzano, Birchabruck | Ponte Nova - 180 or 184 from Karerpass | Passo Costalunga - 184 from Weissenstein | Pietralba, Petersberg | Monte San Pietro, Deutschnofen | Nova Ponente, Stenk (or 181 and change 180) - 184 from Obereggen, Eggen | Ega (or 184 and change 180) - 187 from Steinegg | Collepietra, Gummer | San Valentino (or 182 and change 180) - 180 from Val di Fassa Bus stop: Karersee | Lago di Carezza. Take highway´s exit “Bolzano Nord/Eggental”, turn right direction Bolzano/Bozen, after about 0,5 km on roundabout keep left and head towards Val d’Ega (SS 241). Keep driving up to Ponte Nova. At Ponte Nova’s crossroads, turn to the left in direction to Nova Levante and continue until the Lake Carezza (about 30 min. from highway toll booth).With the public bus line 180 or 184; bus stop: Lake Carezza; online bus timetables: www.suedtirolmobil.info/en/
