Dolomites at your fingertips.
This circular route offers magnificent views over the distant Dolomites and the Tessa mountain range.

From Falzeben by cable car to the top of the Merano 2000 cable car, or from Merano with the new cable car, then follow route 3 to the Kreuzjöchl Pass. From here route 13 winds up the most attractive side of the mountain up to the Rifugio Mittager . The hike duration from Piffing to the Rifugio Mittager is 2 hours and 10 minutes, and the ascent is approx. 500 m. Alternatively, you can go from Falzeben or Piffing to the Kirchsteiger alpine hut, then take the cable car to the Rifugio Mittager. You can return via different routes: One route will take you from the Rifugio Mittager to the Rifugi Merano and Parete Rossa to Piffing or from the Rifugio Parete Rossa to the Rifugio Zuegg to the village of Falzeben. The other route will take you from the Rifugio Mittager via the Maiser and Moschwald alpine huts to Falzeben.
