Round tour near Andrian
Festenstein Castle Ruins and Höhenweiler Gaid
From the upper edge of the village of Andrian (approx. 350 m) always on trail 15 (disregard trail no. 15A, which branches off to the left) through the Höllental valley, initially moderately steep, later very steep (partly rope railings and wooden ladders) in rocky bushy terrain up to Festenstein Castle (approx. 700 m; from the starting point 1 hour) and then on trail 15 up to the Koflerhof (809 m) and on to Gaid (904 m; refreshments available; from Andrian a good 1:30 hour). Now take the little-used access road (initially a section marked 8, then unmarked) across the slopes of the Höllental valley southwards and, passing two farms, to the Lipp inn (802 m; in total just under 2:30 hours from Andrian). Descent: From the Lipphof, follow the signs to "Andrian" on trail 2A through steep bushy slopes down to the crossing trail 2 and on this left, northwards, first level and then descending back to Andrian; from Lipp approx. 1:30 hrs.
