Pozzi alti
Enchanting circular trail in the presence of the splendid glacial landscape of the Presanella with details of historical-naturalistic interest.
From Velon, follow the narrow road that leads to Val Stavel. When you reach the wide bend that leads to Maso Cadin, leave the dirt road and follow path SAT 206 to the right, which leads to the so-called Scalacia (the sections with ropes and wooden walkways must be walked with care). Surrounded by the Dosso di Stavel, the view extends üover the grandiose north face of the Presanella. After reaching path no. 233, continue pleasantly to the Rifugio Stavel Denza. Return to the crossroads and follow path no. 233 for a long stretch at high altitude, crossing various rocky gorges. With a passage under a small waterfall and a dark tunnel, preceded by a dirt track, you reach the Austro-Hungarian military road that leads to the ruins of Forte Pozzi Alti. After the fortifications, head first towards the west. Leaving behind the road to Pozzi Bassi (a short visit is recommended), go down to the right until you pass the village of Carbonere and reach the dirt road that leads back to Velon.
