The route starts in the lovely village of Montaner, a small hamlet in the municipality of Sarmede which from the first part offers a beautiful paorama that opens onto the hills below. The route alternates asphalted stretches and sections immersed in the green of nature, until you reach the Chiesetta del Santo, built around 1930 on a pre-existing capital dating back to the 1700s. Continuing the route it will connect to the 1060 "Anello del Patriarca", a path in the municipality of Cordignano, and then you will arrive at the Parco dei Carbonai, another place of historical importance. The route ends at the Monumento sul Col Alt, a structure built at the end of 1948 in commemoration of the 480 partisans who died on the battlefields. The idea was realized by the partisans of the "Hunters of the Alps Brigade" and over the years it suffered several vandal attacks, but it was always restored to keep it alive in the memory of the citizens.

Turn-by-turn directions

From piazza Montaner take the asphalted road that starts behind the Post Office with the red-white-red sign n. 1061 and the words "Strada della Divina Provvidenza". Go up for about 20 m and, near a sculpture depicting an angel, go straight, at the crossroads turn left and immediately right following the 1061 signs. Pass the beautiful stone house on the left with a huge garden and take the path on the right that runs along the property. Continue straight along the path and, once you have entered the paved road, turn left to take path 1061 which, from here, retraces an old cobbled road up to the “Chiesetta del Santo”. After the church, continue uphill along the 1061 path towards the north. Once again on the road, turn right and continue on the dirt road, partly cemented, gaining altitude. Once in the locality of Lama Rossa, where the ruins are still visible, continue on the flat until you reach Casera Col de Faè. Near a “lama” with a sign of the Comunità Montana delle Prealpi, take the path on the left and continue between two dry stone walls in a steep climb until you reach the grass terraces. Quickly gaining altitude, always under dense vegetation, the slope is climbed with a valley below. After passing a kind of dry stone bridle, leave the bottom of the valley and turn right to go up the ridge, until you reach a clearing where the ruins of Casera Busa di Landro are visible. Continue north towards the end of the clearing and, in correspondence with a reforestation of spruce, you can see on the right a natural cave with a horizontal development, called Busa di Landro. From here go up the suggestive zigzag path, surrounded by blocks of karst stones covered with mosses and you will come out at the Lama di Larbìn, in the locality of Colon. Follow the forest track that is opposite and that comes out on the paved road, turn right and go down for a few hundred meters to the Parco dei Carbonai in the locality of Lamar. Pass it and, upon reaching the Col Alt road, turn right and continue on the forest road. Near a small capital it is possible to see on the left an old “roccolo”, now in disuse. Always follow the dirt road which, slightly downhill and to the left, leads to Casera Col Alt. After passing the casera, you enter an open area and you reach Col Alt on a slight slope, on top of which stands the Monument dedicated to the Partisans. For the return retrace your steps.
