On irrigation channels from Riffian to Dorf Tirol

From the bus stop in Riffian, walk up to the pilgrimage church and continue on trail no. 5 up to the Rösslsteig trail. Follow this to the left, it merges into the Riffianer Waalweg, which naturally leads out of the valley on a gentle slope. Above Kuens you reach the road in a hairpin bend and turn right onto the small trail marked no. 21. Along the Försterbach stream - usually little more than a trickle - the ascent is rather steep, but you avoid the boring access road to the farms. At the end of the climb you reach the Greiter and Mutlechner farms and thus the Kuenser Waalweg again, which leads into the Spronser Tal valley. Below the Longfall snack station you reach the access road, which you follow out of the valley until trail no. 6B branches off to the left. Follow this road for a short while and take a sharp right at the first fork. Follow the path down a gentle slope to Auer Castle, turn right onto the Apfelweg path just below it and you will reach the centre of Dorf Tirol.
