High-altitude itinerary to discover the italian trenches of the First Word War, with enchanting view of the Adamello-Presanella and Ortles-Cevedale group. There are some exposed stretches from Passo Contrabbandieri to Cima Casaiole. From Passo Tonale you arrive at Malga Valbiolo where you take the SAT path n° 111 until you reach Passo Contrabbandieri. Going left along the ridge you will find a very panoramic path characterized by ups and downs until you reach Cima Casaiole and then Monte Tonale Occidentale. Along the ridge you will see some rests of the fortifications of the First World War. You return on the track which in winter is the slope Tonale Occidentale, you arrive at Malga Valbiolo and then you go down the slope Valbiolo until you reach Passo Tonale.
