Latschanderwaal
Enjoyable and eventful family hike on the Latschanderwaal to Juval Castle
Starting from Latsch, you hike briefly in the direction of Goldrain to the beginning of the Latschanderwaal. The first section of the Waalweg to Kastelbell is embedded in a rather wild-looking strip of land. The Waal first runs through orchards and terraced vineyards until you reach a collecting basin (Tschött). Past Kastelbell, the path leads through a chestnut and oak forest until the irrigation ditch disappears underground. The trail continues above Tschars, where you reach the Schnalserwaal. This leads to Juval Castle. Return with the public bus from the Schnalserhof bus stop (hourly).
