Gorropu Gorge
From the car park, head towards the Riu Frumeneddu, the river that flows nearby in the village of Sa Barva. You can cross it by a bridge over splendid pools of emerald water. A little further on is a junction, where you will turn left southwards, onto a clear, dirt road characterised by gentle ups and downs. The road is halfway between the river banks and the high calcareous bastions of Monte Oddeu on the right - an alpine destination renowned for the quality of its rock. Towards the river, small paths lead to pools of water ideal for a refreshing bath on hot days. You will cross a wooden gate at the top of a hill. Then the dirt road becomes a path constantly drawing closer of or away from the river. In the coolest places, you will find non-perennial springs in quick succession. As you proceed, you can see the large gap where the Gorropu canyon is, which clearly cuts off the long, high limestone wall.
