Gorropu Gorge

From the car park, head towards the Riu Frumeneddu, the river that flows nearby in the village of Sa Barva. You can cross it by a bridge over splendid pools of emerald water. A little further on is a junction, where you will turn left southwards, onto a clear, dirt road characterised by gentle ups and downs. The road is halfway between the river banks and the high calcareous bastions of Monte Oddeu on the right - an alpine destination renowned for the quality of its rock. Towards the river, small paths lead to pools of water ideal for a refreshing bath on hot days. You will cross a wooden gate at the top of a hill. Then the dirt road becomes a path constantly drawing closer of or away from the river. In the coolest places, you will find non-perennial springs in quick succession. As you proceed, you can see the large gap where the Gorropu canyon is, which clearly cuts off the long, high limestone wall. You will reach the entrance to large pools of water and a forest of oleanders on the
