In the footsteps of Oswald von Wolkenstein - the poetic knight

Start in Waidbruck in the direction of Trostburg Castle. We reach it in a 20-minute ascent via the medieval Rittersteig, which starts at the parish church. From Trostburg Castle, the hike is worthwhile on a steep primeval path (no. 1) up to the dreamy farming village of Tagusens (950 m) (no refreshment stop), which is reached in 1:30 hours. Once on the plateau, we enjoy a wonderful view of the Val Gardena and Valle Isarco. A few hundred metres before reaching the village, we turn right south towards Castelrotto. After a good half hour we reach a sawmill. Five minutes further on we come across the Lieg Restaurant (1018 m) , from whose terrace there is a beautiful view of the Schlern. Strengthened, we return to the sawmill and from there follow the signpost Trostburg (no number) down to the starting point. From the crossroads at the sawmill 1 hour to Trostburg and from there another 10 minutes to Waidbruck.
