Moderate hike across the beautiful Latemar meadows

Opposite the Hotel Rosengarten on the Karer Pass, hike southwards for a short while on a narrow road until you reach a fork in the trail. We decide to take the hiking trail on the right and follow the marking 17 “Poppekanzel”. The trail crosses extensive meadows and leads up to the forest. Here you come across a signpost with the M 17 and hike along a stony path until you reach the Latemar meadows after a short while. Always following the white-red markings on the stones, you cross the wide mountain meadows to the edge of the forest (1910 m). From here you reach the Poppekanzel in 1:00 h. The way back is the same way as far as the Latemar meadows, then you descend to a forest road and quickly down to the right (M 13) to an alpine pasture. Stay on the forest road until you reach the fork. The last stretch back to the Karer Pass is marked with the number 21.
