Dolomite peaks within reach
The hike leads from St. Kassian to the pilgrimage site of Holy Cross and via St. Leonhard to Pedraces; along the way you have a wonderful view of the Dolomites.

In St. Kassian, take the road that passes by on the mountain side to Soplà. The path to Heilig Kreuz is signposted throughout with 15 (“La Crusc”). First the path, also known as the “Lärchenweg”, leads üacross meadow paths with a moderate ascent to the hamlet of Rüdeferia. The trail continues through thinning larch and Swiss stone pine forests to the pilgrimage site of Heilig Kreuz, with its church and inn. The view invites you to linger: The peaks of the Sella, Puez Group, Peitlerkofel and Kreuzkofel seem close enough to touch. Trail no. 7 takes the hiker to St. Leonhard (there are several places to stop along the way). From there you follow the valley path to Pedraces and return to St. Kassian by bus. If you want to make the descent easier, simply take the chairlift.
