Frescoed circular view
Easy family hike from Schenna to the frescoed circular church of St. Georgen with magnificent views.

From the village centre in Schenna, follow the signs to St. Georgen. First you walk through a gorge, past old farmhouses, then across orchards with a view of Schenna, Dorf Tirol and the Passeier Valley. You reach an ancient and huge chestnut tree. From this natural monument, you reach the turn-off towards the Waalweg in 10 minutes. First on a hiking trail, then a bit later on the asphalt road, the path climbs steeply to St. Georgen (716 m). Walking time up to here: 45 minutes. Continue on an asphalt road from the village square following the sign Waalweg. Then turn left and walk across meadows past Krebishof and Lothof. On an asphalt road with hardly any traffic, you return to Kastanienbaum and finally to Schenna.
