To the historic scattered hamlets of Gfeis and Vernuer.

From the “Kreuz” inn on the main road in Riffian (504 m) follow the signpost “Waal” on a road up to the Riffianer Waalweg, now on the footpath marked no. 21 A (at the start signpost “Gfeis”), for the most part not particularly steep, through the woods up to the “Bergrast” inn in Gfeis (1187 m, 2:00 hrs.) and turning left through the woods 20 minutes further up to the “Walde” inn (1296 m). Now follow the mark 24 A through the meadows and past the Larcherhof farm on a wide path up to the forest (approx. 1400 m) and cross it almost flatly northwards to the highest farms of Vernuer, namely Unter- and Oberöberst (1392 m, both with a snack station; from the Walde inn approx. 0:45 hrs). From there on footpath 5 (Kirchsteig) via the Hienderer and Prünster farms down to the little church and inn “Brunner” (1100 m) and continue on path 5 partly through meadows, partly through woodland and past isolated farms, always following the signs “Riffian” in a largely medium-steep descent down to Riffian,
