moderate hike through the beautiful Montiggl forest

From the village hall in Pfatten (243 m; access here via Leifers or Branzoll) follow the signpost “Montiggler Seen” on the marked footpath through the bush slopes somewhat steeply up into a depression in the ridge of the Mitterberg, then on an asphalted forest path to the edge of the forest not far from the village of Montiggl (approx. 500 m; from Pfatten a good 1:00 hrs.), here turn right, on a marked footpath flat over to the Großer Montiggler See (500 m) and briefly through the forest to the Kleiner Montiggler See (510 m; from Pfatten a good 1:30 hrs.). Descent: First around the small lake and continue eastwards to the signpost “Pfatten”, here turn left and eastwards again through a depression in the forest ridge, then on the marked footpath down to the Mairhof farm on the edge of the valley floor and on the asphalt path next to a water channel through orchards southwards back to Pfatten; just under 1:30 hrs.
