Across fields and meadows to a castle
A nice, easy hike at the foot of the Sciliar (Schlerns) Massif

From Fié (Völs, 880 m) stay with Trail No. 6 across slopes and meadows, past a couple of farms, and continuin along the almost flat path heading southeast, until you reach the trail to Umès (Ums), which branches off to the left. This trail is rather steep at first, but eventually is almost flat, and takes you to the village of Umès (932 m; walking time from Fié is almost an hour). From there, keep following the trail markings (No. 3) down to Schlernbach Creek. Stay on the left bank, at first heading towards the valley, then left. The wide path (marked No. 3/6) runs almost flat across the meadows to the settlement of Prösels (857 m) and on to the castle of the same name. Total walking time to the castle is 2 hours. Return the same way.
