From Braies to the High Alpine Lake

From the hotel at Braies Lake (1494 m) on the western shore of the lake on a beautiful path to the end of the lake, then always following the M 19 almost flat westwards to the Grönwaldalm (1590 m); Continue slightly uphill through the enchanting valley to the Alte Kaser (1751 m; hunting lodge) and now more steeply up through the forest to the Hochalpe, whose huts lie in a flat meadow (2114 m; just under 2:30 hrs.); now continue westwards for a short distance on trail 19, but soon turn right and follow the marked trail through the lake drainage area westwards to the lake (2252 m; from Hochalpe 1:30 hrs.); from Braies Lake 4:00 hrs – descent: as ascent, a good 2:00 hrs.
