Back to the Middle Ages
To the castle area above the Schlandraunklamm gorge

From the main square in Silandro (738 m), follow the signs for "Promenade" up between the houses in a north-easterly direction, continue on trail 5 crossing the Schlandraunbach stream twice and then up the steep forest slope in serpentines to the Ilzwaal; now turn right on the exposed, but railing-secured Waalweg into the Schlandraunbach (good bridge over the gorge), on the other side on the again steep, but easily passable narrow footpath up to the terrain saddle at Schlandersberg Castle and to the nearby Fisolhof restaurant (approx. 1050 m); from Silandro 1 hour - descent: on the old castle path (marked 7) on the vegetation-poor southern slope in serpentines fairly steeply straight down to the foot of the mountain and back to the starting point. From Schlandersberg about 0:45 hrs.
