Escursione alle malghe di Funes
The Villnöss Valley offers rugged contrasts, the jagged peaks of the Geisler above, gentle alpine meadows and hospitable huts below.
From the large Zans car park at the head of the Villnöss valley, trail no. 25 leads along the Zanser Bach stream, climbing gently into the valley until after about 30 minutes you reach Kirchwiesl with a small hut. Continue straight on along the good path, now marked 32. After about 20 minutes you reach the first of the many alpine huts, the Kaserill Alm. To get to the Gampenalm, the second hut on this tour, climb across the meadows on trail 32 and finally follow the 31A markings to the aforementioned hut (about 30 min). From here, descend slightly westwards on trail 35 to the well-known Adolf Munkel trail, follow this for about a kilometre before reaching the Glatschalm in a few minutes on trail 36B to the right (from Gampenalm 1 h). The starting point of the hike can be reached from the Glatschalm in half an hour on trail no. 36.
