Turn-by-turn directions
The starting point of this tour is Prato Piazza. On trail no. 33, we briefly head north to the southern slope of the Dürrenstein. Trail no. 33 is also part of the Dolomitenhöhenweg no. 3. Once on the southern slope, we take trail no. 40 and climb first on alpine meadows, then on well-marked rocky tracks to the summit of the Dürrenstein.
The view that awaits us here is impressive: to the north the Zillertal Alps and the Hohe Tauern, to the east and south the Sesto Dolomites, Monte Cristallo and the Hohe Gaisl.
The way back is the same as the way there.
