Great hike in the Sassolungo group in Val Gardena

First by bus from S. Cristina to the Sellajochhaus. From there we take the basket lift to the Toni Demetz Hut, which is located in the Langkofelscharte (2680 m). From there a steep descent on a stony, sometimes slippery, but nowhere exposed trail down to the Langkofel hut (2250 m, managed refuge), where we stop for lunch. Then descend on the hut trail to the left branching off trail 527, on this trail under the northern flank of the Plattkofel westwards to the Piz da Uridl (2101 m) and on to the Murmeltierhütte (2132 m; bar); from there down to the Zallingerhütte and to the Williamshütte (2100 m) and with the chairlift down to Saltria (1675 m; guesthouses). From there, we hike out and down on the wide forest path through the densely wooded Jendertal, always following marker 18. We let our imaginations run wild, for no other valley in the whole country is so intertwined with legends and stories as the Jendertal. From the Biei farm we descend straight down into the valley and return to
