Distance 9 km
On the Ridnaun valley floor
Great family hike from Mareit to Gasteig and back again in quiet and beautiful surroundings.
The Round Path Mareit Gasteig leads along the Mareiterbach in a wonderfully leisurely walk and can also be undertaken with a pushchair without any problems. In principle, the starting point and the walking direction are unimportant, but we start below the magnificent backdrop of Wolfsthurn Castle. A subsequent visit to the Südtiroler Jagd- und Fischereimuseum housed in it would be worthwhile, as would a short detour to the small church below the castle hill.
From Mareit (refreshment stop), first cross the bridge to the orographic left side of the stream and immediately turn right onto the cycle and walking path out of the valley. The path leads to the hamlet of Stange (refreshment stop), where you change to the other side of the stream. The trail continues along the stream to Gasteig (refreshment stop). Here, too, you change to the other side of the stream, but now the circular route leads back into the valley on the footpath marked with no. 9 back to Mareit.
