Circular hike via Tschengg and Larchweg at winter

From the parish church in Tesimo take the main road for approx 200 m towards Prissiano until you come to a large wooden cross, known as the “Hohes Kreuz”. Next head right and uphill, following the signposts for “Oberer Wiesenweg” and trail no. 13, until the route branches off to the right onto trail no. 6 just after Castel Zwingenburg. Follow this path, which is initially steep but then almost level, through lovely beech woods to the Passo Palade road (45-60 minutes to this point). Opposite, at Tschengg farm, is the start of the Larchweg (trail no. 6). This gently undulating trail leads in about an hour to the idyllic Narano meadows and on a forest track down to the tarmac road. Next turn right onto this road (signposted 4) past the Hofstätterhof wine tavern (refreshment stop) heading south towards the Passo Palade road. Cross over the road and then take the narrow road, continuing along the route signposted 4, back to the parish church in Tesimo.
