Die ruhige Wanderung führt von Sexten hinauf auf den Außergsell unterhalb vom Gsellknoten.
Von Sexten Dorf geht es auf Markierung 12A vorbei am Wetterkreuz zum Gsellbach und durch das Gselltal bergauf. Auf dem Kamm rechts ab und über Steig Nr. 12 zum Gipfel des Außergsell. Der Markierung weiter folgend führt die Tour hinunter zu den Außergsellwiesen und auf der Forststraße in nördliche Richtung bergab. Bei 1570 m.ü.M. scharf rechts ab und über Weg Nr. 12B zurück zum Ausgangspunkt.
