Much of the tour follows the E5 long-distance hiking trail, to some alpine pastures and to magnificent vantage points.
Shortly after the start at the Klammeben mountain station, you reach the Hirzerhütte. From here you continue on the E5 long-distance hiking trail to Hinteregg Alm and Mahdalm. The trail then leads up to 2130 m via a steep defile and then back down to the Pfandler Alm. The trail descends via hairpin bends to the finish at the Sandwirt in St. Leonhard im Passeier.
