Rewarding family hike in the Merano region

From the Algund Alpine dairy, take trail no. 7 via Mitterplars - Schlo&szlig Plars to the Waalweg. This is where the Jägersteig trail (25 A) begins, which leads up through the forest to the Schlundenstein (large ice age rock). Here you branch off to the right and walk down to the Café Konrad (trail no. 26 A), turn right again and walk along the Burgweg to Mitterplars to the Vellau chairlift valley station. From there, follow the Bürgersteig road to Algund back to the village centre. Alternatively, you can branch off to the right from the Schlundenstein and continue up the path to the Ebeneicherweg, where you will reach the Ebeneicher (path no. 25) after about 1 km. From there you descend along the Vellauer Weg and walk via Algund-Dorf back to the centre.
