On this high alpine tour in the Puez-Odle Nature Park we cross the Puez-Gardenaccia plateau - a large karst plateau with numerous sinkholes that resembles a flowering rock garden in summer.

On the eastern edge of the Puez-Odle Nature Park is the village of Stern. From here we first take the chairlift uphill before we reach the Gardenaccia hut along a wooded rocky flank and across beautiful larch meadows. At the mountaineering shelter, we start crossing the Puez-Gardenaccia plateau over to the Puez Hut. What appears at first glance to be a lunar landscape with cart fields and sinkholes turns out to be a charming rock garden with numerous rare species when the alpine flowers are in bloom in summer. Via the Passo della Gardenaccia we finally reach the Puez Hut, which awaits hungry hikers in the middle of a green sinkhole with a wide range of food. The descent takes us past the often dry Lago de Ciampei through the Edelweißtal valley down to the Edelweißhütte hut and on to Colfosco. We return to Stern by bus.
